Planning Commission Meeting

The Meeting will be at the Haines Civic Building.
The Planning Commission is appointed by the Town Board pursuant to WI Statutes 62.23 (1), 61.35, 60.22 (3) and 60.62 (4) and is supported by staff of the Iron County Planning and Zoning Department. It advises the Board regarding community planning and land use management. The Commission is responsible for developing and recommending the community plan and implementing policies, procedures, and ordinances to the governing body for adoption. The Commission may be asked to review and/or recommend action on the following matters: conditional use permits, rezoning, subdivision/land division plat approval, driveway permits, etc.
The Planning Commission meets on an as-needed basis. Members encourage public participation at their posted, open meetings and are expected to consider presentations and public comments when making recommendations to the Town Board. Commission appointee terms last 3 years. It is a voluntary position with a set stipend per meeting.
