EMS Update

EMS Update
We have not posted any specific updates because we are unable to finalize anything until we have our State of Wisconsin EMS license, but below is what has been happening.
1. We submitted our final paperwork, with changes that the State wanted, in mid-January. At the end of January, we were informed that our application was accepted by two people but we are waiting for the boss to give the final approval. Mid March will be sixty days since the State of Wisconsin received all of our paperwork. As we call the State, asking for progress updates, we are consistently reminded that they have 60 days to review our application.
2. Their are 14 students in the EMR/EMT classes and they are already into their second week of class. We are so grateful for the time and efforts that they are placing to improve their own skills and assist our town in the future.
3. There was a meeting between current RN’s and EMT’s with the EMS Director, where they discussed future plans and did a tour of the ambulances and building.
4. Both ambulances are fully stocked and the second one is awaiting a state inspection.
5. The ambulances have new logos and reflective striping with the name of the EMS service.
6. Weekly meetings have occurred with the billing service. We have filled out the paperwork that we can but are waiting for the license number to set up our accounts with Medicare. Medicaid, insurance companies, etc.
If you have any questions, as always, please feel free to contact the town 715.476.2403 or [email protected]. In addition, the Mercer Fire and EMS FB page also provides some updates.
